Teen Read Week

April 11-14, 2011

This year's Teen Read Week was full of activities and contests. English classes enjoyed guest readers from around the district (Dr. Cote, Mr. Genis, the counselors). There was an assembly with "Get Lit" poetry readers on Wednesday (volunteer students also performed). Mr. Diaz held a "library computer desktop" contest (top five winners included in photo gallery). An "Accelerated Reader" competition took place between freshman English classes, with the winning class getting a free pizza party (Ms. Sendano's 3rd period won); and there was an "Interpret the Quote" contest, organized by the library staff, in which contestants could write, draw, or film their responses (Winners: 1st-Juan Aquino, 2nd-Stephanie Rayo, 3rd-Karen Rosales).
