Seniors..submit your favorite pics from this weeks homecoming game to use for the Varsity Football Program Senior Night. Pics from student section, banners in support of a homecoming candidate, particular Senior player, etc. Email pics to lgonzales@erusd.org

 

PBIS….As a reminder, we will raffle out 2 Knotts Scary Farm Tickets on 10/26.

 

Are you having trouble keeping up with assignments? Are you just not getting what your teachers say in class? Are you already stressed about studying for tests even though it's barely the fourth week of school? No worries, the El Rancho Tutoring Lounge has got you covered. Our capable college tutors will do their best to help you with any problem in any subject. The tutoring lounge is located inside the Library Building in room L101. We are open before school at 7:15, during lunch, and after school until 4pm.  . Don't wait, come get help from the tutors today.

 

SOFTBALL TRYOUTS…WILL BE NOVEMBER 7th and 8th at 3:30 pm on the softball fields.  Be dressed and ready to play.

 

ID’S….If you did not take a ID Picture, you may do so on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after school in the Activities Office.

 

LUNCH APPLICATIONS…Please submit your lunch application ASAP.  Applications from last school have expired.  Pick up from the Activities Office or submit online.  Thank you.

 

 

Trick-or-Treat for Hunger…Saturday, October 20, 2018, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm,Smith Park Pool Deck

Volunteer for a good cause. Volunteers will go door to door to collect canned food and non-perishable items. All collected food are distributed to deserving residents by the Pico Rivera Christmas Baskets Committee at the annual Christmas Baskets Distribution in December. Volunteer check-in begins at 8:30 am. Volunteer briefing at 8:45 am. If you are unable to volunteer but would like to donate canned food, you can drop off goods during event hours.

 

Halloween Spooktacular

Saturday, October 27, 2018, 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Smith Park

Volunteer at our community event. Volunteers assignments include set-up, Halloween pail distribution, candy distribution through Trick-or-Treat Village, carnival game operator, costume contest parade usher, arts and crafts assistant, or fun house ghoul. 

To volunteer, simply show up to event. Pre-registration is NOT required. Volunteers will need to complete a volunteer application available on event day or download volunteer application at pico-rivera.org  Volunteer verification letters will be made available for those who need proof of volunteer service hours.  We thank you in advance for taking the time to make a difference in our community.

 

HEY DONS…Want a customized poster to support your favorite player?  Contact any ASB member for more information.  Price varies on size of poster. 

 

ATTENTION  ALL STUDENTS.. All locks on the skateboard racks need to be removed at the end of the day, please take your locks home with you on a daily basis. All locks that are left behind will be cut off.  Thank you.

 

 

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES…Students are welcome to attend school in their favorite costume(s) but must follow guidelines:  All costumes must be family-friendly and cannot be obstructive, offensive or violent.  Costumes cannot contain sharp or pointed objects which may strike another student.  Masks may not be worn, costumes cannot contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.  Please adhere to the Dress Code policy…no halters, see through blouses, low necklines, open back tops and tube tops are considered inappropriate.  Printing on clothing that can be deemed offensive is not allowed.  If you are found violating dress code you will have to change into school issue attire.

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS…The District is offering Athletic Accident Insurance for the 2018/19 school year.  The District has made available for purchase, voluntary student and athletic accident insurance through the Student Insurance Company.  The insurance provides broad coverage for 24-Hour, School-Time, Tackle Football and Extended Dental.  All students participating in interscholastic sports (this includes cheerleaders, mascots, bands, drill teams, etc.) are required by the Education Code to have adequate accident/medical insurance.  District procedures require all medical insurance interscholastic participants to certify accident/medical insurance coverage prior to participation.  For more information please pick up form from the Activities Office.

 

STUDENTS…Please do not use $5.00 bills on the vending machines, refunds will not be issued. 

 

LUNCH NUMBERS….If you do not remember your lunch see Jane in the Cafeteria.  Freshmen  may get their new lunch number from Jane BEFORE SCHOOL ONLY.

 

ASB CARDS ON SALE NOW…FOR ONLY $40.00…Free entrance to all home football and basketball games, $10.00 discount on yearbook last day for $10 off yearbook purchase with an ASB Card is February 22, discounts on Formal Dances, FAST PASS to the Don Games and two extra graduation tickets (Seniors only).  Last day to purchase ASB card to receive the two extra grad tickets is April 12th.  Don’t Miss out!

ATTENTION STUDENTS… Skateboards need to be locked during the school day on the skateboard rack that is provided. Students must bring their own locks. Any skateboard not locked will be confiscated and will only be returned when a lock is produced. Thank you for your support in this matter. 

 

JUST A REMINDER ON DRESS CODE…halter, see through blouses or clothing, low necklines, open back tops and tube tops are considered inappropriate. Shorts or skirts which are shorter than mid thigh are considered too short. Printing on clothing that can be deemed offensive is not allowed. If you are found violating dress code you will have to change into school issued attire and the confiscated article of clothing will not be returned until the end of the school year. Repeated violations of dress code may result in suspension.

JUNIORS/SENIORS….ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?…Don’t forget to participate in the Don Tradition Annual Powder Puff Flag Football Game.  You need to have athletic clearance, 2.0 GPA and no fines to participate.  Pick up Physical from the Activities Office.  Deadline to submit physical is October 31st.  Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime event.
