A Note to Parents
High school brings back special memories for each of us. This is an important time in your student's life. High school students struggle with personal identity, fitting into social groups, peer pressure, and of course academic studies. Certain high school experiences may have life-long consequences. Many high school choices will lead students into adult habits and situations. Students need direction from teachers, counselors, and most of all from their parents!
ERHS Handbook
The 2012-2013 ERHS Handbook is now available (left column under "Policies"). It includes a huge amount of information, including attendance policies, graduation requirements, test dates, and much, much more!
Transcripts
Effective immediately, the Guidance Office will now be charging alumni for transcripts. Price is $5 per copy. Cash only. Orders must be placed in person. Hours are M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Promote the Importance of Education
Parents need to remain active in their children's education and teen years. Keep track of your student's high school graduation requirements:
- 220 credits in specified subject areas
- Complete and pass algebra
- Pass the exit exam (CAHSEE).
- High school grade point average (gpa) is cumulative (Freshman grades are as important as any other!)
- GPA is important for four-year colleges and post-secondary education programs
- Consider advanced placement (AP) courses
