Digital Imaging Book Poster Contest

February 28, 2014

For Teen Read Week, Mr. Diaz' digital imaging students were asked to design posters for books but in the style of a movie poster. The main objective was to demonstrate visual hierarchy: a design concept that uses color, contrast, size or other visual tools so that viewers get a sense of visual importance when looking at a design. Students were also supposed to create original artwork that captured the essence of the story by compositing various images together. Students used their own portraits to turn themselves into the main characters.

And the winners are...

  1. David Juarez, Period 1 - Insomnia
  2. Ricardo Robles, Period 3 - Hamlet
  3. Alex Martinez & Marcello Aguilar - Catcher in the Rye
