Varsity Football Coach Announcement

from ERHS Principal Sam Genis

March 5, 2012

Dear Staff,

I am pleased that we are beginning a new chapter of El Rancho High School Football by the hiring of Venencio (Vinnie) Lopez as our new Head Football Coach. Coach Lopez brings successful experience as a varsity assistant coach of highly respected and competitive football programs.

Coach Lopez comes to El Rancho after spending the previous five years at Pac 5 powers Trabuco Hills and Santa Margarita High Schools. As a Run Game Coordinator in the South Coast and Trinity Leagues, Coach Lopez brings a wealth of football knowledge to our student-athletes. Prior to his work at Santa Margarita High School, Coach Lopez was the Defensive Coordinator at Rancho Alamitos High School.

Coach Lopez understands the expectations of the El Rancho community. Philosophically, he uses football to develop young men rather than using young men to develop a football program. He is a dedicated coach who will implement policies that are clear and consistent.
