Around $254,000 in scholarships were recognized at the 49th Annual Honor Crest Awards Ceremony. One hundred six honor crest seniors (those with 3.33 GPA, who will be wearing gold at next week's Graduation Ceremonies) were honored during the evening. City and business leaders took turns taking the stage to distribute the awards. Seventy-one students of the "Generation First Degree" program were also recognized during the show. The goal of the Generation First Degree program is to have a college degree in every household in Pico Rivera.
