Shark Dissection: Marine Biology

February 16, 2012

Ms. Bauer's Marine Biology classes dissected sharks recently. Groups of 4 and 5 students worked together on their 18-inch long specimens during the extended Wednesday and Thursday class periods. Part by part, they removed and identified the various structures of the sharks' anatomy. A few of them still had recognizeable fish and fish parts in their stomachs from their last meal. Marine Bio is a two-semester class which can be taken as an elective, or to meet the A-G science requirement.
