Members of the ERHS Staff took on the crew from the Power 106 radio station recently in an exhibition basketball game. All profits from the event were donated to El Rancho's boys basketball program. The crowd definitely got its money's worth. Besides an intense basketball game—which Power 106 won, 69-64 in overtime—the dj only stopped playing music long enough for the group, Cali Swag District, to perform at halftime. Mr. Francisco was dumbfounded at the spectacle: "I know there's music during halftime, but I've never played in a game where the music just never stopped!" Junior and varsity basketball shooting guard Rick Islas commented on the halftime show, "Everyone started coming down [to the floor], getting into it, dancing; it was really good."
