Alfredo Martinez called to order the regular meeting at 5:05PM on 3/6/2013 in the school library.

INFORMATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
- Student Representative Report
- Senior night took place on 2/8/13. Varsity senior basketball players invited their parents to a special ceremony to thank them for their support throughout the years. The event was hosted before both of the basketball games.
- Winter formal took place on 2/9/13 at the Almansor Court in Alhambra. The theme was “A Night in White”. There was a great turn out and tickets sold out. The decorations were the best yet.
- Mother/Daughter “Western Round Up” is taking place today.
- Cirque Du Sadie’s is taking place on 3/15/13. In order for students to get an idea on how to dress, there was a mini parade held during lunch and we will have a pep rally this Friday.
- Throughout the week we have been collecting donations for bounce houses and in return if each class collects $300 we will pie selected administrators in the face.
- Teens for Jeans and Teen Read week events also happened since we last met.

- DAC
- Teresa Villegas reported that Ms. Roxanne Fuentes emphasized the importance of School Site Council Bylaws. The “Parent Portal” was also discussed and there should be 40 teachers piloting the portal by March. ERUSD middle schools should have access to the “Parent portal” by 2013-14 and Elementary schools by 2014-15.
- Ms. Villegas also reported the Safe Schools/Healthy Students grant, awarded to ERUSD four years ago is about to expire. The school district used the grant to help fund three school officers, one deputy, a probation officer, “Owleus” Anti-Bulling program, “Character Counts”, crime line assisting, Every 15 minutes and a “School Emergency” pamphlet that will go out district wide.

- DELAC
- Alfredo Martinez shared that the DELAC meeting had the same regarding the Safe Schools/Healthy Students grant. He also shared there are 2400 English learners in ERUSD. Of those 355 are ERHS students.
- Special Ed.
- Freddy Larrache reported that Dr. Lohrman was in communication with the ERHS Special Education department. There will be a meeting on Monday to see what is going on in the school district.
- Administration
Mr. Genis reported the following:
- Shared that marking “Spanish” as the primary language spoken at home on the “Home language survey”, classifies a student as an English Learner. He also explained the re-designation process.
- ERHS Academic Decathlon team finished 5th in points. This is the 5th year in a row to make State.
- ERHS Varsity boys soccer team CIF Division III Champs. The boys have a game tomorrow at 5:30pm and if they win they go to State which will be held at Warren High School.
- A letter went out today to the parents who will have access to the “Parent Portal”. Forty teachers are piloting the program.
- A 6:15am “Morning call” Tele-parent is being sent out to those students who are chronically tardy.

- Parent-School Compact (student responsibilities) was reviewed.
- Parent School Compact (teacher /school responsibilities tabled until next meeting.
- Adding alternate- Ruth Villaneda to fill Pat Gomez remaining SSC term (per Article III section 5&7)

- ELAC Delegation Responsibilities tabled until April meeting.

Public Comment
- Alfred Renteria commented that the Don Booster Club will be having the scholarship applications ready in the ERHS College & Career center in about two weeks. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000. Any student can apply. There is a 2.0 minimum GPA requirement and two letters of recommendations.
- Teresa Villegas reminded everyone of the Generation First “The Road to College Success for Hispanic Students” symposium to be held at ERHS on March 13th at 6:30pm.
- Esther Mejia shared there is a free “Family Services Fair” held at Rio Hondo College on March 8th
